Bio

Shamim Tayar is a Chemical Engineer (Shand University of Technology, 2004) with a master in Chemical Engineering/Biotechnology (Amirkabir University of Technology, 2009). She received the Bachelor in Food Industry on the investigation the effect of temperature and water hardness on Gelatin production from fish-scale and the master in Biotechnology on Biosorption of Lead from contaminated milk by NaOH-treated orange peel. During her PhD, she is working on the application of white-rot fungi to degrade flame retardants (Autonomous University of Barcelona). Her current research consists on the fungal colonization strategies and application of the Bioreactors for the removal of flame retardants. She is also research support technician in ICN2 (Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology) and working on the Novel Energy-Oriented Materials.

Current research interests
